The Bombay High Court invites applications for the post of District Judge.

The Bombay High Court has announced 28 vacancies for the position of District Judge by nomination (25%) in the Judicial service of the State of Maharashtra.

Designation: District Judge.

No. of vacancies: 28. 

Pay scales: Rs. 1,44,840- 1,94,660 plus dearness allowance and other allowances as admissible under the Rules.


Eligibility Criteria:

1) A candidate must be :-

  • A citizen of India.
  • A Holder of a Degree of Law.
  • practicing as an Advocate in the High Court of Bombay or Courts subordinate thereto for not less than seven years on the date of publication of Advertisement and while computing the period for practising as an Advocate, the period during which he/she has held the post of Public Prosecutor or Government Advocate or Judicial Officer shall be included.

or 

  • A candidate must be working or must have worked as Public Prosecutor or Government Advocate for not less than 7 years in the post or posts on the date of publication of the Advertisement, and while computing the period of 7 years, the period during which the candidate has practiced as an Advocate shall be included.

2) 35 - 45 years of age in case of general and 35-47 years of age in case of backward classes recognised by the Government.

3) Must be proficient in the language of Marathi. He/She must be able to speak, read, write and translate from Marathi into English and vice-versa.


Process for applying:

  1. Application must be submitted online only in the prescribed format through the Bombay High Court website

  2. Application will be accepted till Thursday, 26th September, 2024, up to 04:30 pm only. 

  3. Fees for Registration is ₹ 500/- for backward classes recognised by the Government and ₹ 1000/- for others.
