The Supreme Court is set to reconsider the matter where the bench of Justice J.B. Pardiwala and Justice R. Mahadevan had pulled up Justice Prashant Kumar of the Allahabad High Court and as part of a disciplinary action, they had not only set aside his order, calling it untenable in law, but had also directed the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court to strip Justice Kumar of all criminal assignments as well.

It is being reported that the Chief Justice of India, B.R. Gavai, in consultation with senior colleagues, explored possible measures to address the order dated 04/08/2025 of the bench led by J. Pardiwala. Thus, an exception has been taken to the direction issued by the bench.

Consequently, now, on the Supreme Court’s website, the case has been scheduled again for hearing on Friday, i.e., 08/08/2025, despite having been previously disposed of.
