Judge Goes Viral for Savagely Putting Rioters in Their Place
Bombay High Court’s Court Room no. 13 which is well within the virtual court network, faced an unusual technology glitch. Advocate D. J. Bhange, who was to be appearing virtually via video conference (VC) for the petitioner was forced to abandon his virtual appearance and had to go back arguing the matter over a phone call.
When attempts to connect via VC proved futile, an undeterred bench of Justice Ravindra V. Ghuge and Justice Gautam Ashwin Ankhad heard the submissions over a phone, kept near the dais.
With patchy audio persisting, Advocate Bhange requested for a hearing the following day. The judges, staying firm on the schedule, responded over the call that an adjournment would not be granted.
