Judge Goes Viral for Savagely Putting Rioters in Their Place
Justice Bhushan Ramkrishna (B.R.) Gavai will be sworn in as the Chief Justice of India on May 14, 2025. The oath of office will be administered by President Droupadi Murmu at 10 a.m. in a solemn ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The event is expected to be graced by the presence of the Prime Minister, Ministers, Judges of the Supreme Court and various High Courts, as well as prominent members of the legal fraternity.
Justice Gavai will assume the country’s highest judicial office following the retirement of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna on May 13, 2025. His tenure as the Chief Justice of India will span nearly six months, concluding with his retirement in November 2025. His elevation marks the beginning of a new chapter in the leadership of the Indian judiciary.
