Krishnakumar, Judge of the Madras High Court, as the Chief Justice of the High Court of Manipur, effective upon the retirement of Justice Siddharth Mridul on 21/11/2024.

Justice Krishnakumar, who has been serving as a Judge since 07/04/2016, is the senior-most puisne judge of the Madras High Court. He has a strong background in civil, constitutional, and service law, with expertise in constitutional matters. Known for his integrity, legal acumen, and competence, he belongs to a Backward Community.

This recommendation considers the need for fair representation across High Courts and Justice Krishnakumar’s seniority, merit, and integrity. The Collegium has noted that currently, there is only one Chief Justice from the Madras High Court among the Chief Justices of the High Courts.
