PIL To Enforce PoSH Act In Political Parties Dismissed: SC

The Supreme Court bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Manmohan has dismissed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) plea to apply Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013 (PoSH Act) to political parties across the country by asking the Petitioner to first approach the Election Commission of India.

The plea filed by advocate Yogamaya MG had highlighted the non adherence of political parties with the act specifically when it comes to constitution of Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) to deal with sexual harassment complaints.
