SC To Examine Witness Intimidation Risk After Bail To Senthil Balaji

Senthil Balaji Granted Bail on 26th September 2024; Becomes Cabinet Minister on 29th September 2024

" We grant bail and the next day you go and become Minister! Anybody will be bound to be under the impression that now with your position as a senior Cabinet Minister witnesses will be under pressure. What is this going on?" observed The Supreme Court bench of Justice Abhay S Oka and Justice Augustine George Masih.

The bench observed the above while hearing the plea to recall the judgement granting bail on the ground that witnesses would be under pressure since Mr.Balaji was appointed Minister soon after his release.
