SC Collegium Recommends CJ Manmohan of Delhi HC to Supreme Court

The Supreme Court Collegium, during its meeting on 28/11/2024, has unanimously recommended the elevation of Justice Manmohan, the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, to the Supreme Court of India.

Justice Manmohan, who was appointed as a Judge of the Delhi High Court on 13/03/2008, has been serving as its Chief Justice since 29/09/2024. He currently ranks second in the combined all-India seniority of High Court Judges and is the senior-most judge from the Delhi High Court.

The Collegium highlighted the underrepresentation of the Delhi High Court in the current Supreme Court Bench, which has only one judge from this jurisdiction, as a key factor in its decision.
