Judicial Reshuffle: Fresh Appointments and Transfers Notified

In pursuance of the Supreme Courts Collegium recommendations in May, the Center has given the nod to the elevation of 5 Judges to be the Chief Justice of their respective High Courts.

The notifications record the appointment of the following judge

1. Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva, Judge of the Madhya Pradesh High Court (parent High Court: Delhi High Court), has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Madhya Pradesh High Court.

2. Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Judge of the Delhi High Court, has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court.

3. Justice Ashutosh Kumar, Judge of the Patna High Court, has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court.

4. Justice Vipul Manubhai Pancholi, Judge of the Patna High Court (parent High Court: Gujarat High Court), has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.

5. Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan, Judge of the Himachal Pradesh High Court, has been appointed as the Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court.

 

In another fresh notification, the Union has notified the transfer of four High Court Chief Justices.

 

As per the notification, the following Chief Justices have been transferred:

1. Justice Manindra Mohan Shrivastava, Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court, has been transferred as Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.

2. Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court, has been transferred as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

3. Justice M.S. Ramachandra Rao, Chief Justice of the Jharkhand High Court, has been transferred as Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court.

4. Justice K.R. Shriram, Chief Justice of the Madras High Court, has been transferred as Chief Justice of the Rajasthan High Court.
