Judge Goes Viral for Savagely Putting Rioters in Their Place
In a significant update following the appointment of Chief Justice Sanjiv Khanna, the Supreme Court of India has issued a new circular revising its hearing schedule. As per the latest directive, regular hearing matters will not be listed on Wednesdays and Thursdays, shifting the focus on these days to miscellaneous cases.
According to the circular, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays will now be reserved for miscellaneous matters, including transfer petitions and bail applications, effectively pausing the listing of regular hearing matters on Wednesdays and Thursdays until further notice.
The circular explicitly states:
"Henceforth, on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays after notice miscellaneous matters, including Transfer Petitions and Bail Matters shall be listed and no regular hearing matter shall be listed on Wednesday and Thursday till further orders."
Further clarifications have been provided for specific cases:
"Special Bench or Part-Heard matter, whether miscellaneous or regular hearing which are directed to be listed on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays shall be listed in the post-lunch session or as per directions of the Competent Authority."
