The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the appointment of Justice Joymalya Bagchi, a senior judge of the Calcutta High Court, as a Judge of the Supreme Court of India.

Justice Bagchi, who has over 13 years of judicial experience, is ranked 11th in all-India seniority among High Court Judges. Notably, he is also in line to become the Chief Justice of India in 2031.
