SC : Be Careful Enough While Making Comments About Court Orders

All three wings of the Constitution should show mutual respect for each others functioning as “unwarranted comments’ bring friction unnecessarily, the Supreme Court observed on Friday. The Supreme Court bench of Justices B. R. Gavai and K. V. Viswanathan observed that one should be careful enough while making comments about orders passed by courts. Observing that a “fair criticism” of judgements is always welcome but one should not “transgress the limits”.

The supreme court was dealing with the issue pertaining to telangana chief minister a. Revanth Reddy’s comments on the supreme court granting bail to Bharat Rashtra Samiti leader K kavitha in cases linked to the alleged delhi excise scam. the bench, which took note of Reddy has tendered apology before the court, observed further that it does not wish to proceed further on the issue. the supreme court was hearing a plea seeking transfer of the trial in the 2015 cash-for-votes case from Telangana to Bhopal. Reddy is an accused in the said case. The Supreme Court refused to transfer the trail from Telangana to Bhopal and directed Reddy not to interfere in any manner with the prosecution’s functioning in the proceedings.

The Supreme Court was irked by the Congress Chief Minister’s remark on a “deal” between Bhartiya Janata Party and BRS for securing bail for BRS leader Kavitha.
