Judge Goes Viral for Savagely Putting Rioters in Their Place

The Supreme Court will hear the Yasin Malik case on November 28, 2024, following an appeal by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). The case pertains to Malik’s involvement in the killing of four Indian Air Force personnel.

On November 21, 2024, setting up a temporary courtroom within Delhi’s Tihar Jail to facilitate Malik’s physical cross-examination while addressing significant security concerns was proposed. A bench of Justices Abhay S. Oka and A.G. Masih emphasised the need to ensure justice is both done and seen to be done, stating, “In our country, a fair trial was given even to Ajmal Kasab.”
The CBI, represented by Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, opposed transferring Malik to Jammu, citing security risks linked to his history and alleged ties with Pakistan-based terrorist Hafiz Saeed. Mr.Mehta suggested conducting the trial within the jail premises, noting similar arrangements in other high-security cases.
