Accused Sanjay Roy found guilty by the Sealdah Court in the RG Kar Rape-Murder Case. Justice Anirban Das, 1st Addl. District Judge convicted the accused under S.64, S.66, and S.103(1) of the BNS Act.
The Court came to the conclusion of conviction based upon the evidence submitted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
The judgment was delivered nearly two months after the in-camera trial began in November 2024 and 162 days following the commission of the offense on August 9, 2024.
Quantum of Punishment to be declared on January 20, 2025.
