Dr Birendra Saraf Steps Down As Maharashtra’s Advocate General

Maharashtra Advocate General Dr. Birendra Saraf has tendered his resignation, citing personal reasons.

Mr. Saraf began his legal career in the chambers of former Chief Justice of India, DY Chandrachud. After Justice Chandrachud’s elevation as a judge of the Bombay High Court in 2000, he went on to join the chambers of former Advocate General Ravi Kadam. In 2020, Mr. Saraf was designated as a Senior Advocate. He has also served as Secretary of the Bombay Bar Association for six years.

During his tenure, Mr. Saraf has appeared in many high-profile cases including the Maharashtra Reservation issue, Badlapur School assault case, etc.
