Judge Goes Viral for Savagely Putting Rioters in Their Place
As Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjiv Khanna took office on November 11, 2024 the composition of the Supreme Court Collegium is expected to remain largely unchanged throughout his tenure.
The Collegium, which includes the five senior-most judges of the Supreme Court, is responsible for the appointment and transfer of judges in the country’s constitutional courts. Under the leadership of CJI Khanna, the current Collegium comprises Justices BR Gavai, Surya Kant, Hrishikesh Roy, and Abhay S Oka.
During CJI Khanna’s tenure, the only anticipated change in the Collegium will occur on January 31, 2025, when Justice Vikram Nath, a future Chief Justice of India, replaces Justice Hrishikesh Roy following his retirement.
The next three Chief Justices of India following CJI Khanna will be Justices BR Gavai, Surya Kant, and Vikram Nath, in that sequence.
