Judge Goes Viral for Savagely Putting Rioters in Their Place

Justice Ashish Chavan of the Bombay High Court on Wednesday stepped aside from hearing a petition filed by Satish Salian, the father of Disha Salian, who had worked as the manager of the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput.

In the petition, Mr. Salian claims that his daughter was "murdered" and did not die by suicide. He has asked for an FIR to be registered under the relevant provisions of the IPC.
Disha Salian died on June 8, 2020, after falling from the 14th floor of the building where she lived. The incident occurred five days before the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. Following her death, the police recorded an accidental death case.
Earlier, in November last year, a division bench of the Bombay High Court expressed concern over the pace of the probe into Disha Salian’s death. The bench questioned the Maharashtra Government and sought an explanation as to why the Mumbai police had not been able to conclude the investigation even after five years.
