Allahabad HC Sets Aside Afzal Ansari's Conviction, Allows Him to Continue as MP
In a historic first, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) has announced a reservation policy for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) in its staffing procedures. By way of this initiative, the court envisages to enhance representation and inclusivity in court administration.
Staff members were notified through a recent circular regarding the implementation of a model reservation roster, effective June 23.
The official communication from the Supreme Court Registrar emphasizes the importance of transparency and accuracy in the new roster system.It instructs all personnel to report any discrepancies or objections concerning the roster directly to the Registrar in charge of Recruitment.
This Model Roster outlines the recruitment framework for various positions, including Senior Personal Assistant, Assistant Librarian, Junior Court Assistant, and Junior Court Assistant cum Programmer, among others. The initiative allocates 15% of employment opportunities to the SC category and 7.5% to the ST category, thereby ensuring fair representation across the board.
